Coaching

Coaching is about helping people to achieve their full potential.  At the heart of the coaching process is a focus on delivering measurable and sustainable performance improvements that meet the needs of the coachee and the organisation.

By providing a supportive environment that encourages the coachee to focus on their own learning, have space to reflect and explore and review options and actions, the process enables individuals to move forward and make the changes needed to achieve their goals.

What type of development needs does coaching address?

  • Support into a new role
  • Performance improvement in specific areas
  • Future career development and planning
  • Development of personal style and approach
  • Development of strategies to address management issues
  • Helping successful individuals to further develop their management & leadership skills
  • Support in the management of change

At Impact, we believe that people development is successfully achieved when it is delivered with people and not to them.  The ownership of the coaching process by the coachee is therefore critical to the success of coaching.

We believe that successful coaching requires clear agreed boundaries, measures and reporting structures so that the process is transparent.

We provide support outside the coaching sessions to help coachees to bed in the changes.

Tools such as the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strengthscope and 360° profiling and feedback can be used as part of the coaching process to facilitate individuals understanding of their personality preferences and strengths in a range of areas including decision making, communication, information gathering and working style.

All Impact coaches receive ongoing development and supervision to develop competence, style, tools, techniques and their application.

"The way that the coaching was structured worked really well for me.  Putting dates in the diary for subsequent sessions helped me to stay focused and work on my actions.  I found the use of real life examples really helpful as it bridged the gap between theory and me understanding what I could actually do differently day to dayManager, local government
